I remember that when applying for TFN, we are able to add an assumed name. At that time I did not choose an assumed name, but now I would like to add one. Where should I do it? Thanx.

Hi @ChinJohua,

The option to provide an assumed name would have only been available when you first applied for a TFN.

If you're updating your name now, you may be presented with the option to 'choose a previous name'. If the previous name is already recorded on our systems, selecting this option generally means you won't need to verify an identity document.

It's important to note that your TFN record can only be updated with your legal name. You can't add a preferred name, nickname or 'known as' name to your TFN record.

If the name you're trying to add isn't available as a previous name option, or you've legally changed your name you may need to update your details with supporting documents.
