I am separated from my husband but have to live in the same house as it belongs to both of us at the moment.How this make a difference on my tax return? Do I pay less tax? Or

Hey @Waffle


This would depend on whether you and your ex are now legally divorced. As one of the conditions for reporting a Spouse is “you were in a relationship with that was registered under a prescribed state or territory law”. So, if you are still legally married then you still need to report each other’s income on your tax returns.
