Hi community,

I have received the genuine redundancy pay for working in the international tech company for 6.5 years (headquarter based in US).

I worked for 4 years in the US and then I transferred to a position based in Australia for 2.5 years.

For the tax-free component of my redundancy pay, should it based on 6 competed years of service to calculate $11,591 + $5,797 * 6yrs ?

or only calculate 2 years completed service in Australia?

Hi @yycynthia

I can see where you're coming from however, you'll be best to confirm with Fair Work. Your redundancy pay is tax-free up to a limit depending on your years of service. But working out what the years should be is a bit out of our scope.
