I have contacted ATO via phone and they were unsure how to fix this. I am on a WHV 417 yet my ATO says I am NOT a working holiday maker and I am unable to update this.

Hi @mthornton,

When you started your employment. Did you advise your employer on the TFN declaration you were a holiday maker?

When you go to lodge your tax return, you can indicate you're a working holiday maker and that should update your record with us.

Hi, the same problem happened to me. I indicated I am a WHM and the system showed me this : You indicated that all income in this tax return was earned while on a 417, 462 or COVID-19 pandemic event 408 visa. Your salary and wages income statement/payment summary indicates there is income earned unrelated to these visas.

My first 3 payments were taxed with a higher rate instead of a WHM tax rate. I reported it to my employers back then, and they said they've updated on the system, since the tax rate had gone back to normal.

But is it possible to cause this problem I have now?
