Hi there, in 2017 I asked BT Super for Life to payout the remaining funds in my super account with them (it wasn't much, it was just less than $100). The main portion had already been transferred to our SMSF.
They provided a cheque in August 2017. Unfortunately, this check was sent to my accountant who took some time to forward it to me. And clearly I just filed it into "Items to read later". Well... just last week I found the uncashed cheque.
I reached out to BT (now owned by Mercer), and asked them to re-issue the cheque. Today I received a strange email from them saying:
"Thank you for your recent inquiry with Mercer super regarding your historical BT super account.
Unfortunately we are unable to reissue the cheque of $99.37 which was issued in 2017 as this amount has already been rolled out to Australian Taxation Office on 19/07/2022.
We recommend you to contact ATO regarding this matter.
Mercer Historical Administration Team"
I attempted to contact you via the Lost Super line, and could not get past the IVR.
Can you please help
