I have been advised that I need to update the 'Associate' info of our community service organisation ABN which was established in 2008. As Treasurer of our club, I understand there will be new reporting requirements next year for organisations such as ours to do a self assessment on exemption status. I have punched in our ABN but system says I cannot access as I am not currently associated with our ABN ..going round in circles..HELP :)

To access the ABN through our online services you need to be a principal authority on the entity as listed on the ABR or be authorised by someone that is. If you are not on the record or are unsure then you may have to go through the update you details process to bring the entity up to date. The easiest way if the entity has not up to date is to seek the assistance of a tax professional as they can access the relevant registries and get all the details up to date. Otherwise you may have to send in a change of registration details form to update us on the current make of the entity.
