I have to submit a tax return in another country as well and in order not to be taxed in both countries on the same income, I need to provide proof that Australia considers me to be tax resident in Australia.

Hello @YvetteZ,

So in this type of situation we have a process called obtaining a certificate of residency. This document should be able to meet your requirements and be able to prove that you were an Australian resident for tax purposes for a set period of time. This type of request can take up to 28 days so we suggest lodging your request well before you are required to meet your tax obligation lodgement dates.
