Dear all,

My client is a foreign resident for tax purpose for the full financial year (1 July 2022- 30 Jun 2023) and would like to know if the tax rate for interest and dividend income should be 10% and 30% respectively or 32.5% on both income if the client has received gross payments (i.e without deduction of withholding tax) and need to report interest and dividend income in the tax return.

Looking forward to your input. Thanks

Johnny Cheng

Hey @JohnnyC,

Are they in Australia on a Visa? If so which one? Is the income from interest and dividends from a foreign source or from Australia? Is this the only income they had while here?
