Hi, I am funded forex trader with the online proprietary firm, FTMO. As this is my sole source of income, am I eligible to register this as a business income with an ABN and save money with business tax as opposed to the high personal income tax?
i am technically a contractor at the firm and i invoice them after each trading period.
That means a company would be taxed under the PSI rules.
This means all income received by the company, after expenses, flows to you personally.

Having an ABN does not change the rate of tax applicable to forex trading for an individual.
Hi, thanks for the reply.
Is there any other ways to minimise taxes trading forex such as trading as a business and only paying myself a percentage for personal income and keeping the rest in the business? I believe i read that company tax is limited to 25-30% so just curious if that is relevant in my situation.
I would of thought something like this was possible as i am technically a contractor at the firm and i invoice them after each trading period.
