I take unwanted items, and home made items to markets every so often and use a square reader for personal use. Does this money that I get need to be on my tax return and if so how do I go about it. The square gives me all the information from the items but I wasn't 100% sure if I needed to add it all up for my tax return. It wouldn't be thousands of dollars that I get as it is on the odd occasion. Any help or information would be helpful.

Hey @Sarah_A_P,

You've mentioned that this is a hobby to you and not a business. If it's a hobby, you don't need to declare the amounts you make to us and you won't be able to claim any tax deductions.

Of course, if it's a business then you need to declare all income and you'll be able to claim deductions.
