Can I confirm if you have selected “restart” or “resume”?
When you have restarted the tax return it should give you a message of "You have data saved from a previous session", that you have selected "Restart" and not "Resume"?
If you selected "Restart" but the data has still not been cleared from the return, then you may need to try a workaround. The first thing I'd suggest is to clear your browser cache and try restarting your tax return.
If this still doesn't work, then you should try lodging the return with as much correct data as you possibly can, and then submit an amendment to correct the information as soon as possible. Generally, it is best not to submit an amendment until after the original has processed, but in this situation, it may be best to submit the returns close together.

Hi Chantelle, thank you.
I tried restarting from scratch, clearing the cache and even using a different browser, but the data about "business" is still stored there.
I would really like to lodge the tax return but the system does not let me, because one of my businesses is "rules apply" and one is "rules dont apply". One step tell me "go back and fix it" and does not let me proceed. Do you think calling ATO can resolve it? I might need someone to access the system from the other end and erase one of the business for me. Thank you very much!
