I have heard that Individuals can get an extension to paying their tax bill until May 15th of the following year (ie May 2024 for the 2022/23 tax year) if they are using a Tax Agent. Can Individuals apply for, or get this same extension if they are completing their tax return themselves?

Hi @Sixela,

The extension you are referring to is not an extension to pay for clients that use a tax agent. It's a concessional lodgement date for tax agents due to them having many clients that need to lodge.

If something has happened to hinder your ability to pay your tax bill on time. We can discuss some options for you. We have a great page for if you cannot lodge or pay on time you may find helpful.
