I'm trying to register for an ABN for my virtual assistant business (sole trader). I'm currently living at my Mum's for no longer than 12 months but don't want to register the ABN to her property if she'll be impacted by any means.

Your mum will not be impacted in any way by you using her address. :)
This is for the soul purpose of registering the business location and us being able to send correspondence like registration letters, Business activity statement and a few others.
You can change the address once you have a new location where the business will be acting from. :)
