Hi! I am an international student taking up MBA for a span of 2 years. I came here with my husband as a dependent under my student visa. I recently learned that I am considered a resident for tax purposes and I can utilize the tax-exempt threshold. I would like to ask if this applies to my husband as well. He is currently working full-time. Thank you!

To be a resident for tax purposes you need to be here for at least 6 months. If he will be here for at least 6 months then he will be a resident for tax purposes same as you.
