When clients are nominating their agent via ATO online services for business, do they need to select the level of authority they are nominating for? Eg. whether they are nominating just for BAS agent access, or for tax agent access. Or is it just a general nomination and it's the agent's job to select the level of access from their end? Any chance you could provide me with a screenshot of what the nomination screen looks like from a client's perspective?

Hi @FionaK

No, they’re not selecting a level of authorisation, they are nominating an agent by using the agent’s RAN or practice name.

The agent then has 7 days to action the nomination before it expires. It’s important for the client to let their agent know they have done the nomination as the agent doesn’t receive a notification the client has completed a nomination.

While I’m not able to provide screen shots you can find the info and steps on our Client-to-agent linking in online services page.
