I´ve been trying to fix my name on the ATO service for the past month since it repeated my last name twice instead of my middle name, I can´t contact by phone due to high volume of calls, i tried doing it through the app but it requires some form of Australian ID (birth certificate, name change cert or marriage license), which i don´t have as a WHM Visa Holder. i just need to add my middle name as it's preventing me from accessing a ton of services, and it´s almost impossible to do so as a foreigner. I'm in desperate need of help and i don´t know how to get this fixed

This is a tricky one for non-residents who don’t have the Australian documents to update online.


The good news, it can be done 😀.


You’ll need to complete a paper Change of details for Individuals form. When you send this form in your identification documents will need to be translated and certified copies. Here's a list of ID we'll accept, so you can use your overseas passport.


Have a look at our Copies of identity documents for applicants in Australia page it will let you know how to get the documents certified, who approved certifiers are, and what to do if your documents are in another language other than English.
