I had been a sole trader for 3 years and for the past 2 years operated as a Pty Ltd. I have never had a Christmas party, but this year thought it would be nice to have a small Christmas party dinner with myself (Director) and my wife. Additionally, have the company provide a small gift to myself and my wife.

I am the only employee of the business and I understand that my portion of the dinner (up to $300) and the gift (again up to $300) is FBT exempt. However, it was not clear if having my wife at the party and a gift to my wife would be FBT exempt as well.
