I tried setting up a pension under my SMSF and received this rejection letter

  1. You indicated that your entire member benefit is unpreserved. However, we note that it includes a preserved component (i.e. $23001) based on our records. Please note that you cannot segregate your member balance and use only the Unrestricted Non-Preserved component to commence the pension.

If you're under preservation age, accessing your super can happen but only in limited circumstances.

 

Check out our further info on when you can access your super early to see if you meet one of the conditions.
