Are you a foreign or temporary resident? If so you don't declare your NZ income. See link.

If you're a permanent resident you declare your worldwide income on your Australian tax return from the time you become a permanent resident. There is a double tax agreement with NZ. Any tax paid in NZ on your rental income in the future can be claimed as a tax offset.
