We have had a few instances recently where clients have nominated us as agent via client-agent-linking, but when we go to add them to our tax agent list, we only have access to the activity statement account. Clients don't seem to have the option at the nomination screen to select a particular account (it's just nominating the agent), so I'm wondering why this is happening? We've found that if clients go through the nomination process for a second time (doing the exact same steps as they did the first time) it seems to then allow us access to the tax account. Is this a glitch? Or is the process that the client needs to nominate us twice?

Hi @FionaK,

When you're adding the client to your list, are you using their TFN or ABN? As it depends on the client identifier that is used as to which account or role displays.

If you're using the ABN, then the system won't show the income tax account option to choose. If you need to access to the income tax, then you will need ask your client to complete another nomination.

To avoid this, I believe you should be using the business TFN this should give you access to all accounts and roles.

Check out the agent checklist for client-to-agent linking process page. This talks about how to link at the correct account level and using the right client identifier.
