When calculating superannuation contributions for the purpose of calculating Division 293 tax, what data does the ATO use? Is it the amount received in the superannuation fund, or is it the amount that the employer is to pay for that period (ie in PAYG summary)? For example if my employer pays my superannuation one month in arrears then the amount that the employer reports as superannuation payment for the year is different to what is received into the superannuation fund in that financial year.
