In my new employment that I’ve been with for a couple of months, I was being taxed more than I should because it falls under a second job. My old employer hasn’t taken me off their pay roll, therefore if I were to contact them to remove myself and provide empty payslips from their company, would I receive the extra tax that I gave back on tax return?

Hi JeyT,

It sounds like when you started at your new employment you didn't choose to claim the tax free threshold when you filled out the TFN declaration. If you are only getting paid for one job you should fill in a withholding declaration and give it to your new employer so that they can stop taxing you at the higher rate. As @bruce4tax advised you will get any overpaid tax back when you do your return.
