I lodge my ATO TFN application more than 28 days ago and haven't received my Tax Number; hence, being taxed at the highest tax bracket.


I followed ATO instructions and contacted phone number [removed by moderator} but I get an automatic response after choosing some menu options saying that the service is experiencing a high number of calls and therefore try the online options. There are no online options for tracking your TFN request.


What should I do now?

Hi @navasx,


The only way to follow up your TFN application is to contact our individuals area as we need to verify your identity before we can give out information about your TFN.

It's best to call at 8am local time when we first open or closer to when we close at 6pm, Fridays are usually less busy too.

How long has it been? The TFN will be sent to you in the post to the address you put on the original application. Do you remember if you put the right address?

I submitted on February 17th. So it has been 32 days.


I haven't received anything on the post yet. Neither I have received any email.
