I recently received a $16 direct credit from ATO with 15 digit bank account number. The account details seem legit but I haven't gotten any notification in mygov regarding it. Not sure what to do... Is it a scam?

Hello @Bluebird9,

It is most likely not a scam, as scammers rarely give people money.

The easiest way to check this is to access ATO Online Services through your myGov account. There you can take a look at your statement of account by selecting Tax>Accounts>Tax Accounts and then you'll get a list of the accounts under your name. When you click on the link for an account it'll take you to the statement of account. There you should be able to easily see any credits that have recently been refunded.

If you still can't find anything then you can check your communication history to see if we have sent you a letter about this.
