I am trying to update a client's address via the Tax Agent portal, but I keep on coming up against an error message which halts the process. Here is the title and body of the error message:
"An error has occurred"
"We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Try again later.
If the problem continues visit Troubleshooting for tax practitioners or contact us
ATOO-1712097804028"
I can't find any results online for that error message. The error has occurred yesterday & today. Everything else I've attempted to do has been working just fine, and I've never seen the error before.
My testing:
It happens whether I type in the entire address manually in the address box or paste it in.
It happens whether I select the "Use entered address" address option or the address suggestion the ATO provides.
It happens whether I try to update an individual or a company's address.
It happens under both Tax Agent numbers I have access to.
It happens as soon as I've entered any data into the address box, then click anywhere on the page.
My workaround:
Enter only the street number, click anywhere on the page, receive the "The address was not found Check the address has been entered correctly." error message, and manually add each section of the address.
Sorry this is so long!! I need to update the address of a client with a partner and several entities between them.... it is taking a very long time. Halp
