I'm trying to connect my Quickbooks account to the ATO for GST filings but cannot get through by phone to link this. I'm not an Australian passport holder so can't verify my identity sufficiently to get access to link it online. Two suggestions for the phone system:
- Don't make us go through the ID verification and long messages each time before telling us you have peak demand and cannot answer the phone. Tell us straight away!
- Have a call waiting system for those who really need to speak to you. Even waiting for ages is better than no access at all.
Please advise the best number and time to call to have some chance of getting through.
