I have linked my myGov to the ATO twice with linking codes and it works. But when I try sign in a day later I am met with "Your sign in method doesn't meet minimum access requirements." My myGovID is strong and I have logged out and relogged back into it multiple times on myGov. Can I just delete my myGov account and do the process again, or will I lose my ATO data (e.g. super details)?
Hey @luke.forman,
This error comes up when you sign in to your myGov with a lower identity strength than you've used in the past.
To fix this issue you'll need to use the sign in method with the highest identity strength.
You mentioned that you have a myGovID with a strong identity strength? Check that your myGovID is still strong. Sometimes they reset and your documents need to be reverified, particularly if you get a new phone.
If you're still having no luck signing in, you can certainly create a new myGov and relink your services. You won't lose any of your data. Remember you'll have to use a new email address when creating a new myGov.
We've got some great info on securing your access to online services that you should check out!

I am truly sick of this issue, linked but no access due to not high enough My Id where previously very high and cant get that high again due to not facial recognition, don’t suggest better lighting it’s offensive, I’m sick of the moderation suggesting condescending and patronising statements that suggest I’m old n not tech savvy, your federal government facial recognition software is floored globally, unless u can employee a office front person to be able to manually identify people to their passport photos as they do when I go through immigration at any international airport because it doesn’t work on my face, so I’m destined to never be able to do a tax return or pay my debts to ATO so ATO will find me if they want me because I cannot access after linking due to previous highest level security with My Id being updated with a new passport and name change and a new face! Not so smart after all ATO, My ID Federal Government
Hi @Gurumum - I've just answered your other post.
I am having the same issue. My myGov and myGovID apps and information are up to date and my myGovID is "strong". My myGov, myGovID and ATO accounts are linked. Even so, I cannot upload my ATO or "myDeductions" info. When using the app and trying to do so, I get the "Your sign in method doesn't meet minimum access requirements" error message.
It's a confusing issue because, as far as I can tell, it shouldn't be occurring!
I have the same issue. I signed in using myID just wanted to see how it works and now I cannot go back to signing in using passkey, the method I prefer :(
This is a browser cookie issue. If you have a MyID and you try to login using PassCode, your browser and the ATO get confused.
If you clear your browser "cookies" this will fix the issue.
