I have an abn and do a few different things to try and earn some extra money. Unfortunately there have been a few times in the past year that I have been overwhelmed and procrastinated on record keeping, I usually do my invoices when I get home but some ended up on the back burner and there could potentially be a few jobs that I missed. In this situation when it is time to lodge my tax what is the best way to deal with this? Should I estimate the missing amount of income and add it on top of the amount that i do have invoices for? The amount missing wouldn’t be anything over $500
Hi @Allooushh,
Hmm... You'd need to go back through to try to work out what you may have missed. You could go through your bank records for payments that clients have made. Try to re-create the records the best you can.
If you have a smart phone, to help in future you can always use the ATO app to record invoices and take pictures. That way it's all in one place to help with your record keeping. 😊

I have tracked down as many of the sales as possible and created invoices for them. there are some that were done cash that I can’t find any info on. In this situation can I leave it at that and lodge my return? I’m kind of stuck not sure what to do. As stated previously the amount is not a lot, would not be over $500
