Hi!

I recently started in digital marketing. I sell e-books, guides and MRR (master resell rights) courses. None of these are accredited, and they all teach you how to grow your social media and how to create content etc. I also create content (short Reels) on social media to promote these products.

I’m having trouble applying for my ABN. In particular, the question “what’s your main business activity”. I cannot find anything that fits under digital marketing, and I don’t think it’d be content creator cause I make my sales from the courses.

I’m also unsure if I need to charge GST. I sell these e-books/guides/courses to people all over the world.

Do I need to pay GST?

I don’t make anywhere near $75k. More like $10k.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello @KimberlySL

Don't stress to much about the main business activity, as long as you pick one that is as close as possible (have a play with our business industry tool).

You also don't need to worry about GST for the time being if you're below $75,000. If you go over $75,000, you need to charge GST to your Aussie customers, but not overseas customers.
