Today is 2o/5/2024 and mygov is still not showing this semester's HECS debt for Semester 1 2024. I can see Semester 1 of last year was processed 19/4/2023 and effective date 31/3/2023. My university has told me that they have done their side for Semester 1 2024 on the 14/4/2024, but it seems that the ATO hasn't done their bit. I am planning on paying the debt off before indexation on 1 June, this doesn't give me much time from now.
Hi @waunistudent,
We haven't been able to do our part yet as there's been a delay somewhere in the process between education providers sending us their students loan data and us receiving it.
@BCLyon has linked a post where we've provided info on what you can do in the meantime.
As for indexation - the amounts you've incurred this year won't be indexed until next year when they're over 11 months old.

I'm in the same boat as @waunistudent - although for two courses one at the end of last year, and another at the beginning of this year. I've also reached out to the Uni and they've stated that the loan fees have been accepted by the ATO and it is currently in transit between the Department of Education (don't know why they're involved) and the ATO.
I've asked but the Uni hasn't yet told me when the loan fees notice was sent to the Education Dept. I too want to get in before any indexation - but maybe if its not there, it can't be indexed (here's hoping!)
hey @waunistudent I found this link too - seems we're not the only ones !
