I'm exploring how businesses can claim deductions for expenses related to SEO, digital advertising, and other online marketing efforts under Australian tax laws. Could anyone provide insights into:

  • What expenses qualify as deductible for digital marketing activities?
  • How can businesses accurately track and report these expenses?
  • Are there specific guidelines or considerations when claiming deductions for SEO and digital advertising?

Your expertise and advice on navigating these deductions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi @smithloo,

  1. Any expense that was purchased for the business to help in the day-to-day running of it. Keep in mind, there's some eligibility criteria that needs to be met.
  2. It's a great idea to keep good record keeping practices. This includes things like invoices, receipts and other documentation that can prove the expense or income.
  3. Check out the info on our website where it talks about sales and marketing industry expenses. It'll get you thinking about what's possible to claim.
