I am currently in Australia on my husband's visa. Unfortunately we are now having to return permanently to our home country. During our years in Australia, I found a job & the company would like to continue with my employment. I am not a permanent resident or resident of Australia. My home country is part of the double taxation agreement with Australia. Is it better to contract to my Australian company & pay tax in my home country or remain employed & pay tax in Australia?

Foreign residents living overseas working for Australian employers don't have tax withheld from their payments or super paid and are not required to lodge a tax return. Make sure your employer knows that you are no longer a tax resident and have permanently moved overseas.

You would only have tax withheld if you remained a resident for tax purposes. (which you aren't)
