I just got my tax file number last year. I’m going to lodge my very first tax return this year but I have forgotten my tfn. I haven’t linked it to mygov, and I couldn’t find the letter that the ATO sent me last year. I have made several attempts of calling ATO but every time I was on hold for more than half an hours each time and couldn’t speak with anyone. Is that any possible way to find back tfn?

We have a guide to help with Finding your TFN. If none of these options work for you, as taxfriend said, you'll need to keep trying to phone us.

Unfortantely you will need to keep trying to call the call centre, it's the start of tax time so they are quite busy fortunately you do have until 31 October to lodge your tax return so maybe try calling in a few weeks
