Hi there,

We have a tech budget through work, but unfortunately I exhausted it for the year and recently my PC required 3 parts to be replaced which I paid in full for, plus the labour to replace them. It would be 50% utilised for work, 50% for personal.

How would I go about claiming? The total would be about $1500-$1800 (haven't gotten the bill for the labour yet!)

Thanks.

Hello @C1nder,

You can claim deduction on your repairs however you will need to apportion the difference between business and personal. Our computers, laptops and software deductions page explains what you need for the deduction. If the amounts you have stated are correct then you'll likely be looking at claiming a decline in value over their effective life deduction.
