We do recommend waiting until your first return finishes processing before lodging an amendment as this can cause delays.

If you made a mistake on your tax return then you should request an amendment. You can either do this online via mygov or by sending a letter. https://www.ato.gov.au/individuals-and-families/your-tax-return/amend-your-tax-return/how-to-request-an-amendment-to-your-tax-return#
