Community Justice Services keep claiming that Centrelink Rent Assistance is not part of our Total Gross Income because I live in public housing.
They're spot on. Rent assistance is a non-taxable payment. You won't need to include this in your gross income.
Check out our further info on amounts you do not pay tax on.

I don't think you understand my question
On my Centrelink statements they show Centrelink Rent Assistance as part of my gross income for rent assessment purposes even though I'm in Community Housing in NSW.
The governing body for Community Housing are claiming that CRA is not part of my gross income....
How can this possibly be right?
CRA is part of my gross income according to Centrelink statements, how can 2 rules apply for the one situation?
Isn't saying that CRA is not part of my gross income because I'm in Community Housing is also discrimination against Community Housing Tenants.
Look at the Australian Taxation Office laws There are NO exceptions to gross income because of living situation.
Again that's blatant discrimination against Community Housing Tenants
