is my ev novated lease exempt from fbt in reported fringe benefits?

Hello, I currently novated lease an electric vehicle, though when looking at the reportable fringe benefits section in my tax return all my lease payments are classified as ‘Not exempt from FBT..’. I though that as it is an electric vehicle it should instead be in the ‘Exempt from FBT..’ category. Would appreciate anyone’s assistance to find out if my employer has mistakenly reported this incorrectly.
