My old employer has sent out duplicate income statements, they’re the exact same except for the dates that they were last updated (1 says reported in Feb the other says reported in June) the one from Feb says not tax ready. Anyways I and several others have contacted the old employer to see what the go was & they told us that apparently it had only happened to 25 people (there were more) and that they would fix it the next day and work with the ATO to have it removed because their duplicated statement now makes it look like I made more than I actually did and I’m not trying to owe the ATO because of it (they haven’t fixed it yet, it’s been almost a week)

am I still able to file my taxes? How do I get the duplicated statement removed & if it doesn’t get removed will I have to owe the ATO?

Hi @CodenameKND

First, thanks for bringing back some memories. Been a while since I thought of kids next door.

Second and more importantly, you sure can lodge the tax return.

As you go through preparing it, you'll find the option to delete the income statement that's not tax ready. Keep all the correct details in there and remove what shouldn't exist.

You won't have a debt based on income that shouldn't be there.
