hi!!! I'm currently a 17-year-old casual who works in retail, I get my pay slips and is currently wanting to lodge my tax returns for multiple years including lodges from my old job. My question is, on my pay slips from my old job the PAYG was $0.00 and on my current pay slips from my retail job the Tax area also says $0.00, does this mean I wont be getting any money back when lodging my taxt. the taxable income on my current pay slip has my income YTD. this is my first time ever lodging my tax and I would be grateful if I could get some clarification on this.
Hi @Kstinaaa
We can help with some info for you. There's a lot to work out when you start lodging tax returns.
If there's no tax withheld (PAYG), then there's no refund. You only get a refund when you've paid more tax than necessary.
From what you've said, you may have income under the tax-free threshold. If that's the case, use our tool to see if you need to lodge.
