I am retired ( Income from Investments) and recently I have been performing with a band at a few gigs. We all have registered for individual ABN numbers . Initially I took responsibility for invoicing the venues with my ABN and distributing the income amongst the other band members( since taken over by another band member). Although we have only learnt in the vicinity of $600 each over the number of gigs we have played how do I go about showing this on my individual tax return and am I entitled to any expense deductions eg Travel to venue, equipment purchase etc?

Hello @ Kinetik,
Being in a band sounds like so much fun! 🎵
First, you'll need to work out your business structure, as each has its own reporting methods.
As for deductions, of course you're entitled to claim deductions on all income earned. 😀
