Hi

I just saw an unknown income statement and employer displayed on my ATO.

I chatted with an ATO Staff online about what should I do ? She said delete it when i do tax return . to make sure I come to see a Tax agent and do the tax return . But now i received noticed of the assessment i need to pay more tax for that unexpected income and Tax agent say i need to call ATO and submit the objection form . it will take few months to a year to ATO solve it . so i just want to ask do anyone know better solution for my trouble ?

Hi @WilliamVu,


Just a long shot! Since you know the employer's name. Have you tried contacting them directly to advise them of the error? If not, give it try as they'll need to amend their STP reporting.


Once they have amended the STP reporting then you can lodge an amended tax return.


Otherwise, you'll need to lodge an objection form. Both options could take some time though.
