I completed the ABN application form last week . It gave me my ABN number on completing the form . I took the screenshot of the number . I then started filling up form for business name registration . However, that ran into an error and I was redirected to the ABR home page . Unfortunately I have lost the screenshot of my ABN number . How do I retrive my ABN number now ?

It has the option to search by ABN ACN or name . I don’t have any of it . I have lost my ABN number . And I haven’t registered a business name yet . What information can I use to search ? I tried using my name but doesn’t work .
You would have had to register your ABN under your own personal name as a sole trader, your own name and another name as a partnership, or as a company or a trust so you should be able to look it up with your name or the trust/company name.
Depending on when you applied it can take a bit of time to start showing on ABN lookup - 48 hours. You might be able to see it on your MyGov account also. Could you have made a spelling mistake on your name or was it a reference number and not the ABN just yet. You will be sent a paper copy too but that can take a few weeks to show up.

If you've registered for an ABN as a sole trader, you should be able to search under your own name and it will populate your ABN details.
Usually, when you're applying for an ABN as a business, you need to register your business name first through ASIC.
I'm assuming you dont have your registration number when you completed your ABN application? (usually starts with a 36 number). If not, we recommend you reach out to the ABR so they can assist you with locating your ABN.
Check the public register. It will eventually be there for all to see.
