I received advice from the ATO that a refund of Franking Credits would be automatically processed and nothing needed to be done by myself. It is now the beginning of November and nothing has been received but according to my records I am owed around $1600. What do I do to make sure I can access my refund?
Hi @IanClu,
Sorry you've been waiting so long for this.
Most franking credit refunds are issued by September. But if the relevant third parties (share registries, etc) haven't sent us their EOY data, it holds up the refund process.
If we haven't received their update by 31st October, we'll start to arrange a refund based on whatever info we do have. And if more info comes to us afterwards, we'll of course send any extra refund that's owed to you.
This should all be worked out shortly for you, so you don't need to take any further action.
