Hello, I am an international student, and I received a message from the ATO stating that it's about unclaimed super being transferred into my bank account. I did not claim any super. The message also mentioned that this may have happened because they lost contact with me or because I have an inactive low balance. I am confused as to why the ATO would send this amount when I did not make any superannuation claim. it would be great if someone help me on this.

thank you

kind regards

manisha

Hi @manisha63

Super is not something that you 'claim', it's something that you earn.

Have you worked for an employer that has paid you superannuation?

If you have, and you haven't told them what superfund you're with, it becomes Lost Super. Check out how to find your lost super on our website.
