We moved back into our home in February after renting it out for 7 years. The spraycrete covering our concrete driveway had deteriorated significantly and was peeling in lots of areas. We had tried to patch the various areas when it was tenanted but it made things worse. Professional advice was that it would need to be resprayed. We had it resprayed in April. I have read the ATO guidelines and believe this to be repairs, not capital works. I am seeking confirmation. Thank you.

Thank you for the response Anita. Has this been a recent change. I have seen advice on other threads that "there are a couple of reasons where you can claim repairs even though the property wasn't rented at the time of the repair
- If the repair was needed because the usage/damage when it was rented
- If the property was rented or available to rent in the same FY you paid for the repair"
