If I have been offered a redundancy because my role is being abolished however I have also been offered an alternative role. Is the redundancy payment still considered a genuine redundancy payment for tax purposes?

If you are being made redundant, its a genuine redundancy.
If you accepted the alternative role you would not qualify as being redundant.
