I am selling a bobcat bucket for $4500 to a business. They have requested an invoice but I am unsure what tax (if any) should be recorded on the invoice. I am registered as a sole trader with and ABN, however, the bobcat and bucket were purchased together for private use (no relation to the business when purchased - no GST claimed etc).

Any advice about what to record as tax in the invoice would be appreciated. 🙂

Kind regards,

Ellis

Hi @Ellis23

Invoices are issued by businesses. Perhaps let them know this is a private sale and you can issue them with a receipt or some type of proof of purchase when they pay. They most likely need it for their business records if its a purchase for their business.
