Hi,

I'm moving permanently (at least 5 years) to work in KSA with my wife and a child; two kids that are 18+ and in Uni here will stay back as they are independent. I have checked and learned that I will become a non-resident for tax purposes eventually.

My question .. can I contribute to my Super in Australia from my savings in KSA if I'm a non-resident? If yes, how will that contribution be taxed?

Thanks

FMK

Hi @FaizMK

Yep, you'll still be able to contribute to your Australian Super whilst being a non-resident. In saying that, whether your super fund will accept a contribution from overseas is completely up to them. So, we'd suggest having a chat to them first!

Depending on your total super balance, non-concessional contributions are tax-free up to the non-concessional contributions cap.
