I am currently living and working in Australia as a Working Holiday Visa holder. I plan to move to Spain in 2025 and register as a tax-resident there. I want to keep working for my current Australian employer as an overseas contractor (not an employee). I know that I only need to pay tax in Spain but can I keep my Australian bank account open and get paid into that? Thanks

Hi @R369S,

We have no issue with you keeping your bank account open. Have a chat to the bank and let them know you'll be overseas. They will withhold tax from any interest your account earns - that way you won't have to lodge a return to report it.
