My American wife worked in Australia for 18 months back in 1994

We have since lived in the US ever since

We are now retired and holiday back to Australia a few times a year under annual tourism visa

Trying to get her superannuation back after it was transferred to ATO

They say they can not process while she has a tourist visa

Surely there is a way of differentiating between a resident and tourism visa

Is the only solution to make the tourism visa lapse (dec 2025) and then not travel there until ATO has processed

Hi @davidcg,

It's a requirement of the DASP process, that you've left Australia (and don't hold any other active visa) and the temporary visa has expired, before you can apply to have super transferred.

While your wife can't claim at present, she can get all the info needed and start the application.
